About Watershed
Nine years reading policies. Fourteen years building roofs.
Watershed exists because Dale Hutchins got tired of watching legitimate hail claims get shortchanged — from the carrier's side of the table.
From 2003 to 2012, Dale Hutchins was an insurance claims adjuster working property losses across North Texas. Nine years, thousands of roofs, thousands of policies read line by line. He saw the pattern from the inside: homeowners with legitimate hail damage getting partial approvals because their contractor's documentation was thin, and storm-chasing outfits burning through town leaving bad builds and voided warranties behind them.
In 2012 he crossed the table and founded Watershed Roofing Company with one operating rule: document every roof like a claims file, because one of us used to write them. In 2014 the company moved into its current office on White Settlement Road, and it hasn't moved since. The crews are W-2 employees — several have been on the trucks for over eight years — and the office phone gets answered in April, when the hail hits, and in October, when it doesn't.
The name comes from the line on every roof where water decides which way to go. That's the job in one word: control where the water goes, every course, every flashing, every time.
“Hail bruises don't always leak the first year. They leak the third — after your filing window is closed. Document now, decide with evidence.”
