Six ways we keep Texas out of your living room

Hail alley, North Texas — where we work
Why homeowners call us first
We read the policy before we read the roof
We document like adjusters
Because one of us was one. Test squares, measured strikes, carrier-format line items. Claims argued with matching evidence settle faster — and more completely.
W-2 crews, not day labor
The crew lead on your roof has been with us for years and will be here next year when the warranty matters. Nobody unknown ever touches your home.
Here in April AND October
Storm chasers work hail season and vanish. Our office has been on the same Fort Worth street since 2014. Drive past it. Knock on the door.
Top 2% credential
GAF Master Elite® status lets us register 50-year material warranties with a manufacturer backstop that non-certified contractors can't offer at any price.
Course 04 · How it works
From flyover to final nail sweep
01
Fly the roof
A 30-minute visit. The drone documents every slope in 4K; we take attic moisture readings where access allows. Nobody walks your shingles, nothing gets scuffed.
02
Read the report
Within 24 hours: a 21-point photo report and a plain-English verdict — repair it, claim it, or leave it alone. About a third of inspections end at 'leave it alone.'
03
Settle the scope
Repair jobs get a firm price. Claims get adjuster-grade documentation, and we meet your carrier's adjuster on the roof. Either way, you approve a written scope before anything starts.
04
Build it in a day
Most homes: tear-off at 7 AM, final magnetic sweep before dinner. You get warranty registration, permit close-out, and completion photos — the same file we'd want if it were our house.
The Watershed story
Nine years reading policies. Fourteen years building roofs.
From 2003 to 2012, Dale Hutchins was an insurance claims adjuster working property losses across North Texas. Nine years, thousands of roofs, thousands of policies read line by line. He saw the pattern from the inside: homeowners with legitimate hail damage getting partial approvals because their contractor's documentation was thin, and storm-chasing outfits burning through town leaving bad builds and voided warranties behind them.

Word around Tarrant County
4.8★ from 447 neighbors
“A door-knocker told me my roof was totaled. Watershed's drone report said the opposite: cosmetic strikes, no functional damage, don't file. They talked themselves out of a $14,000 job and charged me nothing. When this roof actually dies, there is exactly one company I'm calling.”
“Our carrier's first offer covered about half the roof. Dale walked the adjuster through his photos slope by slope — you could tell he'd literally done that job before — and the revised approval covered the full…”
“Two other outfits quoted me a new roof for a ceiling stain. Watershed's guy spent forty minutes in my attic, traced it to chimney flashing, fixed it for $680. That was fourteen months and several gully-washers ago. Dry…”

Straight answers
The questions everyone asks
How do I know you're not storm chasers?
Fair question — after every big hail event, out-of-state trucks flood DFW, build fast, and vanish before the first warranty call. Here's our answer: same office on White Settlement Road since 2014, Texas-registered LLC since 2012, W-2 crews (not day labor), 447 Google reviews you can read, and a phone we answer in April AND October. Ask any roofer for their office address and their oldest local reference. We'll hand you both without blinking.
What does 'former insurance adjuster' actually get me?
Dale Hutchins wrote carrier damage reports for nine years before founding Watershed in 2012. That means your claim documentation is built in the same format and to the same evidentiary standard your carrier's software expects — test squares, measured strikes, line-item pricing. Claims argued with matching evidence settle faster and more completely. It also means we'll tell you when you DON'T have a claim, because he's seen what denials do to homeowners who file thin.
Is the drone inspection really free? Even if I don't hire you?
Yes and yes. The written 21-point report is yours to keep regardless. Roughly a third of our inspections conclude 'your roof is fine' — we consider that a marketing expense that beats any billboard.
Can you help pay or waive my deductible?
No, and Texas law is unambiguous about this: since HB 2102 passed in 2019, waiving or absorbing a deductible is a criminal offense, and it can void your coverage. Any contractor offering it is telling you exactly how they do business. We offer legitimate financing instead.
